Runway at Bumi Hills Safari Lodge

There’s not much to this post other than the picture. Lovely shot of the airstrip at Bumi Hills Safari Lodge in Zimbabwe. This lodge overlooks Lake Kariba and lies adjacent to the Matusadona National Park. It’s not uncommon for a charter flight pilot to have to fly low over the runway to chase away the wildlife before he comes in to land, but I liked this shot because you see the animals looking so relaxed just lying next to the parked plane.

I love the idea that guests at Bumi Hills Safari Lodge would have come back to the plane when leaving their safari – thinking that their game-viewing was over – only to find these unusual guards for the plane!
